Just Like Christ - Live Love Small Group Kit With so much going on, what really matters? Christ said His followers should be known for their love. Drawing from the writings of John, the beloved disciple, Live Love focuses on the heart of life as part of God's family. Looking at their relationship with God first and then others, help your students understand the depth and attitude of love. Then, challenge your student to live out Christ's command to love others as He has loved us. Lessons Include Lesson 1 - Many impressions exist about love, God, and Christians. Culture has hijacked our views on love and, unfortunately, the people who claim to love God often do a poor job relating to Him and to others. Jesus is the perfect picture of love. His brief time spent with the disciples forever changed not only their thinking, but also their actions. Stemming from the writings of John, the beloved disciple, these four sessions are designed to open the hearts of students to the distinctive lifestyle of a Christ-follower – a life of love. This first session will raise the question, ‘What is love, really?' This truth will launch students into a journey of spiritual reflection and faithful action. Biblical Passage: John 13:33-36 Lesson 2 - Everybody wants love. God gave Himself completely in Jesus Christ. He has come to you through the Spirit. It can only be experienced by trusting God and humbly following His Word. 1 John 4:8 clarifies that ‘God is love.' Nobody can experience love apart from God. Nobody can be in relationship with God and not overflow with love. This second session builds on the students' foundation of true love and links the concept to an active relationship with God. Relationships require listening and responding. Loving God means living for God. Biblical Passages: 1 John 4:7-10, 5:1-3 Lesson 3 - This third session bridges your students' love for the God inside of them with love for the people around them. John relays the message of Christ in simple terms. There can be no confusion. Jesus says that when people do not show love to others, they do not really know the love of God. God's love does not stop as it comes down from heaven and into our lives. It moves through us and into the lives of others. The previous session introduced the fact that love requires obedience to God's commands. This truth is further clarified in session three as S
